Good times with Aggies

Last night we decided to venture out to an Aggie happy hour, with a little help from Anna Beth. AB is one of my friends from A&M. She's lived almost everywhere, but now lives in Austin. Yayyyy!!!! Watch out Charles crazy times are ahead.

It turned out to be a pretty fun night. We got to meet some new people, sip on some Sangria, drink a few beers, and listen to the music of the spazmatics. All in all it was good fun.

Welcome to the Island Mon!

One of the best things about getting married, aside from being with the most wonderful man in the world, is going on a honeymoon. We went on a 4 night cruise to Nassau, Cococay, and Key West. It was Charles' first cruise and my second cruise and we had a blast!

Here's a look at our stateroom. Notice the first thing Charles did was take a nap. I walked around the ship, I was too excited to sleep even though the night before we slept horribly. We went to be around 12 am and got up at 3 to be at the airport early. YUCK!

Here is the port at Nassau, Bahamas. This was the start of our adventure. We walked around looking for new sun glasses for me, mine broke the day before. In every shop it seemed like all their glasses were from the 80's, but I did manage to find a pair. After that it was back to the ship for lunch.

After lunch we headed back to Nassau in search of a beach. We took a water taxi to Paradise Island, which is apparently the vacation home of some celebrities. After asking tons of different people where the public beach was we finally found it! It seems like everyone Charles asked gave him a different way to get to the beach. An hour later we enjoyed the waves.

Here's a pick of the Atlantis hotel, a very flossy, flossy place. We had to walk through it to get to the beach. If we ever vacation in Nassau, that is where we will stay. After the beach it was back to the ship for dinner and after dinner we were invited to a honeymooners party. We had a few cocktails that night and danced some too.

Next stop, Cococay! Cococay is the private island of Royal Caribbean. After "celebrating" a little too much the night before, we got up super late the next day. At 11, we rushed to get dressed and head to the island for a BBQ and snorkeling. The water was again beautiful. Charles got finned by a little fish and we saw lots of underwater sights. Sorry no underwater camera.

Our last stop was Key West. Florida. They saved the best for last. During the early part of the day we walked around, went to an aquarium, and had some Key limeade. The after we had an excursion; snorkeling, kayaking, and dolphin spotting. The snorkeling was ok, there was a lot of sea grass and the water was a little murkier. Kayaking was fun, when we weren't in the mangrove trees. The dolphins were amazing. They came right up to our boat. Of course, I missed the best shot. One came right up and looked at us, then went back under. Our camera was off at that time. :(

It was a wonderful trip, and I know that we would do it again, just this time maybe bring some friends, stay in Key West, and stay longer. We really enjoyed having some time away with each other. It was the best time!

The Dog Days of Summer

Today I helped one of my friends pack up her classroom. It took us a while and it was a sad time, she is moving to another school closer to home. We packed box upon box until, we just couldn't do any more. There were so many boxes, when your a teacher, you really just don't throw anything away due to the chance you may use it at some time. It was a sad time, yet a happy one as well. She will be starting fresh at a new school. New beginnings! Now we'll just have to make more of an effort to hang out and do things, so far, so good. We had a blast at my bachelorette party. :)

Charles and I also began cleaning and putting away our wedding presents. That is a task in itself if you ask me. We have managed to do some, but we still need to pick up more from my parents house. Jeez!!! Good thing we have our dogs around to keep us sane. Gotta love Bailey and Rowdy. Aren't they just too cute for words?

Hello blogging!!!

So I decided that since this weekend I am starting a new life with someone, might as well take up blogging as well. Charles and I get married Saturday and let me tell you that it really couldn't come any sooner. We are so ready. It should be, no, it will be a good time. I can't wait for it. Hello new last name. We have been through so much together, good times and bad. I am glad to say that I have found a wonderful partner and friend. I can't wait to call him my husband. It almost seems like we are already married, after all we have been together 5 years this July 17.

I found him at a time in my life when I really wasn't looking for love, but as they say you always find love we you aren't looking. We met July 17, 2003 and began dating pretty much right after that and well, the rest is history. We are 4 days away from being married!!!! Last minute things are getting done and we are getting antsy.
