Bailey

Turtle Rescue / Rowdy's first swim
Last Thursday, I was driving home from school and as I was coming around the corner of our street I saw a turtle in the road. I drove past and came home. I told Charles about it and he ran to go see it. Next thing I know he comes back with the turtle. We watched it for a little while in the back yard and then we decided to take it to the lake. We took Rowdy with us and he had his first swim. Well, he didn't really swim, but he ran around and jumped in the water.

Here's Rowdy in the water.

Packing it up
Well, the house is ours and now we are packing all our junk up. We are totally thrilled to have a real home to call our own. We have been moving stuff little by little and we have a lot there already, but today is the day we move the BIG stuff. I don't know if it was all the excitement or the routine of getting up early, but here I am on a Saturday morning up and ready to get moving. Charles is still sleeping and Bailey is barking at any and every noise that she hears. GEEZ, that dog sometimes. GRRRR.
Anyway, Charles is up so its work time. More posts later. :)

My birthday week..
Here's what has happened/will happen this very eventful week:
Sunday -Charles and I went to Rooms to go for the second time and I finally decided on a couch. I thought long and hard - sectional or sofa/love seat. It was hard! But we have on on hold now.
Monday - In December I ordered Capital City A&M club bus tickets to watch the A&M and TU basketball game. I flew home after school, got Charles and we drove to our meeting spot and we barely made it on time. We rode the bus all the way to College Station, watched the game, and rode back. I really enjoyed watching A&M BTHO TU! We got home at 1:00am and then still had to walk the dogs. Tuesday was really rough at school.
Tuesday - After not getting very much sleep, I was very tired! Luckily my class was good. I don't know how I made it. After dinner we watched WALL-E, but I had to hit the sack early, I must be getting old.
Wednesday - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Today was a pretty good day. I got a lot of Happy B-days, and lots of birthday songs. I even got donuts in the shape of 30 for breakfast. YUM! I even got a kidney shaped table for my classroom.
Thursday - I don't have anything planned as of yet except going to work and going to the gym. (I think I'll go) ...I ended up having margaritas with my school friends. It was too fun, after 1 I was done.
Friday - We close on our house! Then we celebrate my birthday dinner with friends and drinks after that. I can't wait!

House Hunting
Well, the past few weeks, Charles and I have been out looking for a house. Apartment life just isn't cutting it any more. We have outgrown the apt with all of our junk and we need more space. So, we got a realtor, a friend of a friend, who just so happens to be AWESOME! I'll recommend him to anyone.
After a long search, we have found a winner. It turned out to be a really great deal that we can't pass up. It is in a great neighborhood and it has tons of space with a big back yard. Rowdy and Bailey are very excited about that and so are we.
I'll post pictures soon, but we still have a lot of work to do.

Run a 10K?
Last night my friend Anna Beth and I somehow came to an agreement to train for and run a 10K. I am not exactly sure how I agreed to this...I haven't run more than a mile in FOREVER. I guess I haven't run that much since high school cross country. Plus I have torn my ACL twice. What was I thinking? Maybe it was the fondue or the wine, wait...I wasn't drinking any. Oh no....
I'll keep you posted.

Happy New Year...looking back
NEW YEARS
Charles and I celebrated the new year with our friends Ryan and Alycia, and Peter. We had a great time. We stayed in, played pictionary, and ate Alycia's yummy enchiladas. We stayed up till way past midnight, 4:00...talk about being tired the next day. I think we all got up around noon. We ended up watching our wedding video and we had some more laughs. Unfortunately my camera battery died and I didn't get to take any pictures. :(
LOOKING BACK to 2008...
What can I say about 2008? Well, a lot happened.
*I got married!!! After 4 + years, Charles and I finally tied the knot. We had a beautiful wedding and a great reception. It was just the best day ever! I have the best husband.
*I got a great bunch of kindergartners this year. I have the best class. They are so smart and so sweet. I can't complain there. There were a bunch of changes this year with our school, but things seem to be getting better. Our team has bonded so much this year, I am really glad I have been able to get to know them away from school.
*I also have gotten to reconnect with some friends this year, old college friends, work friends, and even some that I have known since elementary school.
*Charles and I had the best Halloween costumes this year. We were He-Man and She-Ra. My sister did an AWESOME job on our costumes. YAYYY!!!!
*I got hooked on Twilight. Charles still hasn't read them yet, but we are reading more for fun. I also went to see the movie with my sister and Abby.
*Obama got elected...
*Gas got cheaper....finally.
*Britney made a comeback.
*We discovered our love for wine, Divine Wines in particular. Yumm-o
*I discovered that I liked the show True Blood on HBO.
That's not everything that happened, just a few. I could go on and on forever.
I can 't wait to see what 2009 holds for us. ;)

Christmas
Our Christmas celebrating began on Dec. 13 when my mom hosted Christmas for her side of the family. The day was filled with presents, laughter, and food.
Then on Dec. 23rd my mom and dad had Christmas for me, my sister, and Charles. Again there was presents, laughter and more food. The pups even got a present of their own. The bone would later make Bailey sick. She threw up until she got every last piece out of her system. She's fine now, thank goodness.
On the 25th we were off to Longview with the dogs. It probably took about 4 hours to get there. When we got there we got to visit with some of Charles relatives; Aunt Gail, Uncle Jack, Granny, Johnny, and Brent and his family. The children were very excited to play with the dogs. Oh, before our trip we had to head to Pet Smart to pick up a new little "house" for the dogs. We call it a house but in reality its more like a cage, well crate I guess. We needed one for them at his aunts house. They seem to love it. I have even caught them inside it when they don't even need to be in it.
For the first time in a long time I was unable to make it to my dad's side of the family's Christmas. I wasn't able to be in 2 places at once so we had to choose. It makes it a little difficult but we survived. Thank you everyone for all the wonderful gifts.
On the 27th, Charles' mom and brother came to Round Rock for a visit as well. I got to see some old videos of him growing up. Too Cute!
All in all, our first Christmas as a married couple wasn't too bad. It seems as though Charles and I are out growing our apartment. We are running out of space for all of our junk. Maybe it's house hunting time. :)
I am usually pretty good about taking pictures, but this time I only have a few. Next year I'll be better. I promise.
